Host a Nunat Community Meeting
We will post your community meeting place (current or historic), opening invocation and remarks, and pictures of your community. You can also set an agenda that includes a specific question or questions that you want others to respond with. For example, you can ask other Villages to share pictures of the fish they are seeing, or what their rivers look like, or to share how they prepare a certain subsistence food.
Just email us at nunat@zendergroup.org
We will need the following information:
Your name, contact, and village.
Community hall picture: A picture of where your community meets, or a picture of a traditional meeting house or a historic meeting/gathering.
Elder invocation: An Elder’s words and their name . You may also provide their birthplace, mother and father’s name, age, or other identifying information that the Elder would like people to know about them.
Opening remarks: Send the text of your community’s or individual’s welcome and your comments about climate change. It can be brief or long.
A picture of the opening speaker (if different) if possible. Elders may be living with you or they may have passed and you would still like to share their words. If they have passed, please provide the estimated time they said their words.
Agenda Items: List any agenda or questions that you would like to discuss, besides open discussion. We will always have an open discussion item, so you do not need to send a specific agenda if you do not have one. You may wish to have a specific speaker on a day and time of the month.
Closing remarks: Is there anything that you would like to say for a closing remark? This might be something that is traditionally said in your community, or any other brief closure. You do not need to send this.
